- That's Ackley's *theory*, he was never able to prove it. A simple test
- might be in order. Putting cotton wadding above the powder gives reliable
- ignition and no "detonations". To test Ackley's theory, put the wadding
- *below* the powder and see if the gun blows up. I say it won't, you'll
- just get a squib and a bullet stuck in the bore. The next normal shot
- then blows up the gun.
