- First off, I understand this is all illegal, and agree that it's stupid, etc.
- However, being the type who wants to understand why things are the way they
- are, I'd like to know if anyone knows *why* it's illegal? It doesn't seem like
- fraud, since the would-be pyramider always comes out and tells you that you have
- to sell your copies, and that you become rich only if everyone else sells their
- copies, etc. It doesn't seem like interstate gambling, since, as mentioned above,
- "This is not a gamble...". So, besides the fact that the postal codes say "thou shalt
- do long jail terms for pyramid schemes through the mail", what's wrong with it? Also,
- what institution (ie: federal, state, etc) would arrest you if you did this on a non-mail
- and non-interstate basis? I've always heard that the postal codes made this illegal.

- Again, I agree it's a stupid thing to do (unless you're the first person :-) but that tends
- to be a bad reason to make things illegal, 1st ammendment rights and all, you know...
