- I think it can generally be assumed that for the typically tight but
- aggressive Hold 'em player the loose and passive game is the easiest to
- beat. Possibly the single most distinguishing feature between a passive
- and aggressive game is the amount of pre-flop raising going on.
-
- OK, so having established that, I am curious whether other people consider
- the loose/agressive Hold 'em game a good one (as in highly beatable) when
- the betting structure is of the "limit" variety? I have mixed feelings about
- loose/aggressive (limit) Hold 'em because with all that action in the pot
- before the flop anybody that has any kind of outs is getting good enough
- odds on their money to keep calling. This tends to put a damper on one's
- ability to "outplay" one's opponents, since it is either a question of
- outdrawing or folding. It can be a real turkey shoot sometimes.
-
- Different authors recommend different things under these conditions. Some
- advocate tightening up while others advocate loosening up. What's the deal?
- Or does one toss a coin and switch gears at random? Also, if given a choice
- with a limited bankroll and the same amount of time for playing in either
- a loose/aggressive or a loose/passive game, which game should one prefer?
