- Believe it or not, I'm pretty sure the answer is no. People ask this
- question all the time on CompuServe. The ANA is only now looking into
- starting a BBS. Trove, a company which has coin programs, sends out
- prices on disk to its users. That's all that I've heard of.
-
- And I am sure that if someone starts typing in Red Book, Coin World,
- Numismatic News, or CDN/Greysheet prices and tries to distribute it
- electronically, they will get in copyright trouble very fast. Unlike
- stocks, there is no "New York Coin Exchange". The publications have to
- figure out prices by consulting a bunch of dealers across the country
- and averaging them somehow.
-
- If someone wants to start their own service, I'm all for it!
- I think many dealers would use it, not to mention collectors.

- I'm not likely to use your program, since I'm a Mac owner, but here's
- a suggestion anyway:
-
- Eliminate as much data entry as possible. Ideally, I'd want a program
- that lists all U.S. coins of all dates and mintmarks (and some major
- varieties) so I could just check off the ones I have. I would never
- use a program if I had to type it all in myself. IMHO, it'd just be
- too much work for too little gain.
