- Simple. What's the cost of the two models?

- Try SHORTING the inputs to the sub. You may need to try each
- individually as well as all together.

- If that stops it, then you likely do have some type of grounding
- problem that you'll need to chase down.

- If you still have hum with all inputs shorted, then the hum is
- being generated in the subwoofer. Depending on the level, it may
- be "normal" [everything hums if you turn it up enough and stick
- your ear in the right place] or the unit may be defective.

- Go to your dealer and listen to HIS units of the same model and
- see if they hum as well.... [WHAT, you didn't do this before you
- bought the unit? >:-) ]
