- I am in the process of buying a CD player, and I am definitely going to get a
- five-disc carrousel changer. What I am wondering is whether there are really
- differences in sound quality between players. I went to United Audio today
- and listened in headphones to two Denon units--one was $279 and one was $449.
- I noticed no difference in sound quality, but the salesman claims that there
- is better sound on the higher-priced model. I wonder whether he is just
- trying to sell a more expensive model or if I am just not hearing the
- difference. I know that I have good hearing, which is why I want CDs rather
- than cassettes in the first place. I just am not sure whether this salesman
- was honest when he said there was a difference. Any comments?
