- We're always fooling around with low noise fiberoptic amps, so the
- exercise is interesting. I have access to scaling geometries for lower
- transistor rb (lower noise) so what we can do on an IC may not always
- make sense for home projects.

- There are some highspeed, low noise microwave transistors available that
- I've used in the distant past that might work if you filter them. I
- think the BFR-51 was one that I used for an Rf amp in a home project
- (video descrambler) that worked well.
