  17.        I've got a Sony CDC C77ES ($500), and I really like it, but I wish
  18.    I had waited for the new Onkyo 6-disc changers.  Very sweet.
  19.        Go for a carousel:  magazines may be more convenient, but they make
  20.    A LOT of noise when switching discs, and all that open space inside the 
  21.    player just makes me nervous.  If that doesn't bother you, the its a toss-up.

  25. Not all magazine-type CD players make a lot of noise.  I have a
  26. Pioneer 6 CD changer and it's VERY quite compared to my sister's
  27. Denon.  There's no klunky sounding motor.  But then again, the Pioneer
  28. is 50% more expensive then the Denon.

  30. Some magazine-type CD players can store playlists for each magazine.
  31. This is useful if there's a certain set of songs on different CDs you
  32. like to listen to.  Just put the CDs in a magazine, program the
  33. tracks, and store it in the player's memory.  Then each time you put
  34. that magazine in, it will automatically recall the playlist.  It
  35. identifies the magazine by examining the first CD and comparing its
  36. signature against the stored playlists.  Obviously the player will get
  37. confused if you change switch any of the other disks, but I think
  38. it'll just revert to normal operation once it detects an
  39. inconsistancy.

  41. This may not be important to many people, but 6-CD magazines are
  42. standarized, so if you have several CD players (say, one in your car
  43. and one at home), you can quickly move the magazine from one CD player
  44. to another.
