  13. Gee if Sony used a bigger disk for MD, eg. the size of a CD then
  14. they would no longer have to use ATRAC for data compression but
  15. could record full bandwidth on the disk. It would have also meant
  16. they wouldn't have a proprietary format. The last thing Sony wants
  17. is to be compatible.

  19. At least with DCC, Phillips wanted compatibility with standard 
  20. cassettes and so had to use data compression to acomplish it.

  22. MD will go into the 'Sony Hall of Shame' along with Elcassette, Beta,
  23. etc..
