  12. Sigh.  It's also been proposed that "disk" refers to removable media
  13. (i.e., "floppy disk"), while "disc" is fixed (as in "hard disc drive").
  14. Both are examples of someone trying to impose a "standard" after the fact,
  15. most likely someone who just can't stand the notion that there are
  16. two perfectly acceptable alternate spellings for "disc/disk."

  19. letter than is really there.
