  34.     I really doubt it.  I'm sure that neither Philips or Sony allowed
  35. any hint of their technology out of their development stages.  With both
  36. algorithms designed separately, the chance of similarity are pretty small.
  37. I don't think we'll see a combined MD/DCC machine in several years.

  41.     No good.  If you have ever seen an MD, you know that it comes in
  42. its own little plastic casing.  You can't even see the actual disc without
  43. opening it.  In order to redesign the CD player you'd have to add an
  44. entirely new laser read-head, as well as develop a way for the current CD
  45. tray to adapt to the new casing.  In other words, you'd basically have to
  46. create a whole new component anyway.  It would just be two components in
  47. one.  No real savings except for space.
