- I think I figured out what it was.
- I always get worried when numbers start growing without bounds, especially
- when the hard disk is running out of space.
-
- I think it was the /expired/ line in the explist file.
- A residual line in the history file is a line that should have been expired,
- according to the other expiry criteria, but has not been because the number
- of days after the arrival of the message specified by the /expired/ line
- has not gone past yet.
-
- Now, were the files corresponding to the residual lines in the history file
- also retained? If so, that would explain why the disk kept getting full.
- I'll not be setting /expired/ to 21 again soon.
-
- So is this a reasonable explanation?
