- And now, because there's nothing more dangerous than a newsadmin
- with some spare time between Xmas and New Years....
-
- Dear friends:
-
- Are you one of those whose eyes glaze over trying to find yourself or
- your friends in that list? If so, via a simple use of grep, sed, sort
- and uniq we have The Guilty Parties! :-) Yes, these are the folks whose
- sites appear in the list. The number in the first column indicates
- how many times a particular site appears.
-
- The magic command to create this list -- pipe the original article thru:
-
- grep '<.*>' | sed 's/[><]//g;s/^.*@//;s/ .*$//;/^[ ]*$/d' | sort | uniq -c | grep -v ' 1 ' | sort -n -r
-
- The sed command should contain carat-openbracket-space-tab-closebracket
- in its last section.
-
- And now, the list:
-
- 33 3.10.7.22
- 24 byu.edu
- 15 drktowr.chi.il.us
- 8 wvnvms.wvnet.edu
- 7 nlbbs.UUCP
- 6 semprini.tdkcs.waterloo.on.ca
- 6 rwsys.wimsey.bc.ca
- 6 csparc12.scs.leeds.ac.uk
- 5 hal.physics.wayne.edu
- 5 SAUPM00.BITNET
- 4 walter.bellcore.com
- 4 uci.edu
- 4 network.ucsd.edu
- 3 vaxser.grumed.fu-berlin.de
- 3 ufpa.br
- 3 staff.tc.umn.edu
- 3 sprint.com
- 3 porthos.cc.bellcore.com
- 3 nwnexus.WA.COM
- 3 isgood.
- 3 hal-too.
- 3 fwrdc.rtsg.mot.com
- 3 edmahood.infoserv.com
- 3 bnr.ca
- 3 aplcen.apl.jhu.edu
- 2 underly.cc.nd.edu.
- 2 sara.cc.utu.fi
- 2 psilink.com
- 2 novell.uakom.cs
- 2 netnews.upenn.edu
- 2 momad.li.ny.us
- 2 lclark.edu
- 2 gator.use.com
- 2 arnold.decio.nd.edu.
- 2 arkusinski.si.com.
- 2 Xerox.com
- 2 LMSC.LOCKHEED.COM
-
- And for the terminally offended, this list *is* provided as a service.
- You don't have to feel guilty just because you're on it.
-
- Other comments:
-
- o Bellcore should actually be tied for 5th, having two sites on the
- list.
- o Nd.edu has two sites as well.
- o Sites with only one listing are not included.
- o Site number 1 is not found in reverse lookups either in the present
- order nor reversed (22.7.10.3), nor any of it's rotations.
