-
- I don't think it's just lower-income people by any means. If you have
- to go to two or three or four places that are covered by the T in one
- day don't you often take your car because you feel that paying two or
- three or four fares is a bit excessive somehow? I know whenever I've
- been in a city where I can buy flat fare cards (day, week, month or
- whatever) cheaply I find myself just popping here and there on their
- transit system.
-
- I know you can buy monthly cards here in Boston, what about daily and
- weekly at a good discount? How about shopper's specials on weekends
- where for around 2xfare (say, $1.50) you can travel all day?
-
- I think one of the most important missions of a good public transit
- system is getting people into the habit of using it.
