- Tried to post this before the holiday and it appeared briefly on
- the morning of Christmas Eve and then mysteriously disappeared, along
- with another posting.
-
- I wonder whether anyone else has attempted anything like our current
- project. We are a group of local writers
- who are publishing a darkside fiction quarterly.
- Our second issue will be out late January.
-
- We plan to stick with a print edition at least for the time being
- as our illustrators add a dimension not available electronically. Also
- we want to be as accessible as possible to potential readers.
-
- Does anyone have any bright ideas about how to broaden our geographic
- base? The magazine is special interest fiction so there are limits
- to how many readers we can find in our own immediate area.
-
- I see Exhumed as similar to a newsletter except that the contents are
- fiction, i.e. that subscriptions are a better route to go than trying
- to cover the costs with advertising.
-
- Newsstand distribution is out of the question for the forseeable
- future. The magazine is quarterly and at this point we can't afford
- colour printing (although our next cover will be glossy black and white).
- However there are many fine magazines out there that are rarely if ever
- seen on newsstands.
-
- Any hints you have will be sincerely appreciated. Please e-mail to me
- and I will post a synopsis to this discussion in due course.
-
- Thanks,
-
