- I have a legal problem I've been wrestling with for over 3 years now and I am
- looking for any kind of legal help or direction with the least amount of cost.
- If you have any legal knowledge or want a challenge and would like to help me,
- please read on. As I said I have been trying to collect this judgement for
- about 3 years with very little success due to a number of reasons and I am
- looking for any kind of help. I will also be willing to share in any amount
- collected.
-
-
- I have a judgement for the amount of $1500.00 plus interest which was
- domesticated in Dade County, Florida Feb 1990, Case Number 89-08622 SP 05
- against an individual. This person owns a ticket broker service and operates
- out of his house. I followed a number of free services under the Freedom of
- Information Act to obtain information on his assets such as cars and land.
- Unfortuantely in Florida I cannot sieze a persons home or transportation. I
- could put a lien on his property if he had some, and he doesn't.
-
- Through some creative investigation I obtained the account number and location
- of his bank account for his business which is registered under his name. As
- well as his Drivers License number, VID of his cars, and the license plates. In
- my first attempt to collect this judgement, he did not list this bank account
- as an asset when he was served a writ of execution. Why I do not know.
- Therefore I was not able to put a lien on anything, that is according to the
- lawyer handling this for me. I notified him of the account that I found and the
- account number. Again he claimed the bank had no knowledge of the account.
- Another dead end. On top of that the lawyer demanded $150 for attempting to
- collect from the bank, which I refused to pay. (since I was not told ahead of
- time about the fee)
-
- Anyway I am at a dead end. His account swells during major sporting events,
- such as the Super Bowl, since he is a ticket broker . My best bet is to put a
- lien on his account during this time. But here is where the problem begins. My
- judgement is for $1500 + interest (10%). There comes a time when the amount
- needed to collect the judgement coupled with the time and effort exceeds the
- amount. In a way I want to get this person to pay up, just because he deserves
- it, but then again I dont want to spend $1500 to do it.
-
- So what can I do? Does anyone know how to 1) Put a lien on someones account?
- 2)file the paperwork? 3) and without major cost?
-
- Or would anyone like to attempt to collect this and take 1/3 of the judgement
- on contingency? I can provide all the information about this person if needed,
- except for the SSN since I haven't been able to get this. I would appreciate
- any help.
