- On Christmas day Aladdan opened here in Ames. My 12 year old sister is here
- visiting for the holidays and we wanted to all go to the movie on opening day.
- The one problem was what to do with Joseph who is only 4 months old. All of
- our possible babysitters are out of town, and anyway it wouldn't be very
- nice to ask anyone to babysit on Christmas day. My husband and I both
- really *hate* crying babies in movie theaters, even Disney movies. So, what
- to do? My husband wanted just me and my sister to go, but I could tell that
- he really wanted to go too and was just being noble. I suggested we *all* go.
- My husband agreed on the condition that *I* be the one to walk the mall with
- the baby when the inevitable happened and the baby started to cry in the
- middle of the movie. I agreed. Joseph slept for the first half hour and
- then woke up. I was holding him and thought, oh, well, this is it. I turned
- him so he was facing the screen. I was amazed when he started to *watch* the
- movie! He watched the movie for the next *hour*! The only noises he made
- were to occaisionally talk to himself, but not loudly enough for anyone else
- to hear. We were all very proud of him!
