- Well, as embarrassing as it is to post
- a story about how we almost caused injury
- to our child, I'm gonna do it, because
- other people's similar tales have made
- me think twice about safety on several
- occasions, so here goes:
-
- Last night, after dinner, we were getting
- ready to light the menorah, when Isabel
- (11 mos. old today) decided she wanted
- to get back in her highchair to finish
- a leftover cracker. Seeing as Michael and
- I were both right there, and as she was
- only going to be in the chair for a couple
- of minutes, I didn't strap her in. Well,
- the second we were turned away (opening
- a present) out she slid.
-
- Luckily, she bounced on her butt down the
- step and onto the floor, and was startled
- but unhurt. But it *could* have been really
- bad.
-
- So, folks, remember - those straps are there
- for a reason (and so are the instructions to
- never leave your child unattended in the high-
- chair).
-
- On a more cheerful note (well, to me, anyway)-
- Isabel, after 3 nights of Chanukah, started
- clapping last night as soon as she saw the
- still-unlit menorah - she was anticipating
- the candles and songs. Is that smart, or what? :)
-
- Hope everyone out there has lovely (and safe!!)
- holidays.
