  12. My 3 year old son seems to spend an awful lot of time grabbing
  13. his penis.  My wife used to tell him to "stop grabbing himself",
  14. but to be absolutely clear we've switched to "stop grabbing
  15. your penis".  Sometimes he does it when he has to go to the
  16. bathroom (no surprise there), so we also ask him if he has to
  17. go potty.

  19. It's been going on for about 3-5 months now, and seems to appear
  20. moreso in stressful situations (like Friday's Christmas "show"
  21. at pre-school).  At first we were hoping he would outgrow it,
  22. but it seems to be continuing on, and maybe getting worse.
  23. We try talking to him, and it gets nowhere (but then again, he's
  24. the least cooperative of our 3 kids, anyhow).

  26. I tried asking him once *why* he was grabbing his penis, and he
  27. said, "Because it makes it bigger".  Uh, well, yes, I suppose it does.

  29. Does anybody out there have any suggestions on how to curb this
  30. undesirable behavior (at least in public).
