- Considering that Novell announced today that it's signed a letter of
- intent to buy Unix Systems Laboratories from AT&T, and they'll be
- taking a ~$250 million charge in 1Q93, I think it's going to go
- down a lot more before it swings back up.
-
- Unfortunantly, the morale among Unix users and developers is going
- to go down a *lot* further, and will probably *never* turn around.
- However, that's not something that can be sold short. (From my
- point of view, this is probably one of the two or three *worst*
- things that could happen to Unix; I don't think it has any future
- under Novells' control.)
