  12. A couple of rescue squads/fire departments in my area here are using the
  13. "FireCom" system (I don't remember the manufacturer).  A friend gave me a demo
  14. on their setup the other day:

  16.    - up to 6 intercom circuits - 3 with radio transmit capability, 3 I/C only
  17.      (multiple headsets can be "chained" on a single circuit; I don't know the
  18.       total number of headsets that can be handled)
  19.    - intercom is always "hot" (uses adjustable VOX)
  20.    - transmit button on headset for radio; radio audio through headsets
  21.    - adjustable headset volume; master volume on control unit
  22.    - control unit has 30-second digital audio recorder - records all I/C and
  23.      radio traffic; can be replayed through headsets; I/C still active during
  24.      playback

  26. Their system (2 headsets) was somewhere around $1300.  All in all, looks like
  27. a nice setup; our squad may consider bying one for our crash truck.
