- We are getting ready to put our old kitchen cabinets in a better
- shape, which means sanding, filling, painting, etc.
- I have no idea what paint they used to paint them before (but they
- have been painted a *long* time ago), and so I wonder:
-
- (1) is there a problem with sanding the painted surfaces?
-
- (2) if the paint does have lead, does the dust stay in the air for
- a while? (We have a 7-year old, who can be removed from the premises
- for a while ... but how long?)
-
- Thanks.
