- My Sony D5 (circa 1985) is still going strong (average 2 hours/day for
- around 7 years; no repairs). It plays my longest CDs (79+ minutes)
- without a problem. It is (and always was), however, more sensitive to dust and
- imperfections on the CDs than newer models, which I assume is due to
- older, less sophisticated data reread & error correction algorithms.
