  13. If what you mean by "wings" are the metal rods extending from the horiz-
  14. ontal support boom, the answer is theoritica;;y no.  these rods are
  15. resonant antenna elements, and electromagnetic physics theory determine
  16. their length.  But, if you're close to the TV transmitter, you could
  17. reduce the length and get weaker reception.  If you're close, you won't
  18. notice the weaker reception.  The lower channels will be the ones affected.
