  30. I suggest you check out a product my employer sells, the Motorola Cordless
  31. Phone.  I had a KXT-4000 before the Motorola product came out, and then 
  32. bought the Motorola phone.  At about the same price, it has many more 
  33. significant features (such as channel autoscan, base-handset scrambling,
  34. battery backup in the base for complete operation during power outages, 
  35. lighted buttons, a mute that really works, ...), significantly better 
  36. durability, better performance (sound quality and range), pocket size 
  37. (larger than the KXT-4000, but hand and shoulder holdable, as opposed to 
  38. an awkward thumb and finger tip holdable for the KXT-4000), and it is US 
  39. designed and built.

  41. (On the down side, the Motorola phone requires handset recharding in the base,
  42. but not very often, and I can't button close my shirt pocket when the
  43. phone is in it as I could with the KXT-4000.)
