  35. Mike Valentine was one of the architects of the Cincinati Microwave "Passport"
  36. and "Escort" detectors.
  37.  
  38. He has now set up in buisness for himself, and is producing a 3 band detector,
  39. the "Valentine 1". In a recent comparison test, the Valentine 1 came out miles
  40. ahead of any competition, including that from Cincinati Microwave - which,
  41. incidentally, isn't bad either ...
  42.  
  43. The only problem with the Valentine 1 is that production is (currently)
  44. unable to keep up with demand, and it is ONLY available direct from
  45. Valentine - hence the price of $300.
  46.  
  47. Basically, it has the following features:
  48.  
  49.     - Two detectors, one facing forward, and the other rearward, and can
  50.       indicate whether the radar source is behind, in front, or to the side
  51.       of you.
  52.  
  53.     - An indication of the number of radar sources detected - usefull for
  54.       traps set in a zone where detectors ALWAYS go off ... and for
  55.       multiple traps - one after another ..
  56.  
  57.     - Virtually undetectable (useful in Canada and those misguided states
  58.       in which radar detectors are not welcome).
  59.  
  60.     - Good sensitivity.
  61.  
  62.     - Low "false" rates.
  63.  
  64. VERY nice, if you have $300 dollars spare - anyone want to buy me
  65. one for Christmas ? :-)
