  17. Italian, and Russian) translations to keep the price down. I'm told
  18. that Addison Wesley provides softbound copies only of books that might
  19. appeal to large numbers of students and programmers (they are supposed
  20. to be short of money).

  23. number of ``professionals'' who are supposed to have lots of money
  24. so that they are willing to pay for hardcover.
