- ``The C++ Programming Language'' is softbound (except for the German,
- Italian, and Russian) translations to keep the price down. I'm told
- that Addison Wesley provides softbound copies only of books that might
- appeal to large numbers of students and programmers (they are supposed
- to be short of money).
