  25. Cuba Elects Provincial Representatives

  27. The National Electoral Commission said on Dec. 20 that at
  28. least 75% of the 7 million people of voting age in Cuba voted in
  29. the regional elections for delegates to the municipal assemblies.
  30. Nearly 14,000 delegates were elected from among 28,000 aspirants.
  31. They will represent 169 municipalities. Fidel Castro said he was
  32. satisified with the way the elections were carried out. According
  33. to Castro the new elections kindled the interest and attraction
  34. of the population even in the difficult times the country is

  38. Former Cuban Major Removes Family from Cuba

  40. A Cuban Air Force Commander who left Cuba two years ago in
  41. his Mig-23 jet and took up residence in Florida returned to Cuba
  42. on Dec. 19 to retrieve his wife and children. Orestes Lorenzo
  43. Perez landed a small private Cessna 310 on a highway near
  44. Varadero in Havana, where his wife and children awaited him, then

  46. to get them in this manner because numerous legal efforts to have
  47. them join him in the US were unsuccessful. The airplane was
