- Today's (Sunday) LA Times has an article on page 3 that covers the
- emerging license plate issue for California: there will be at least 12
- new designs for our license plates! Seems the lawmakers are trying to
- find new sources of revenue...of them all, the Yosemite design looks
- like my favorite. Some of the new ones will allow graphic "hearts"
- "stars" and "hands"; to me, they look hokey --takes the subtelty out
- of the message.
-
- The article also mentioned that California law enforcement agencies
- are not being consulted about the designs, and are generally against
- them--difficulty in reading (how do you describe a heart
- phonetically?).
