You might even want to ask the person who donated it what it can do. He might even have had something in minfor it when he donated it. If nothing else old computers can serve a usefull function when taking them apart for demonstration purposes. I recently took apart a very old system and donated a few of the items to a local computer class for comparison. The read and write heads were as big as the entire drive of today. Tha t just blew their minds away. It also shows them just how far we have advanc
ed by being able to touch the equipment instead of reading about it in some book that shows terrible 1970 pictures. It allows you to bring out a specifc part and show them. It is also great fun taking them apart because with only a little understanding you can tell what all the parts do (you can not do that so much today)
