Well, maybe not in K-12, but there are several other Star Trek echos.  I'm
also in the TREK conference.  But anyway, with chain of command, I think that
it was very over-rated.  Sure, Patrick Stewart put on a great acting job,
but I think that the story was really lacking what it could have.  But you're
right about the Cardassians, they MAY not be a threat.  Considering in an
episode that the USS Phoenix took out about 5 Cardassian ships alone, it
shouldn't be that hard, but the thing is that the Phoenix did that because
the captain believed that the Cardassians were shipping new weapons.  So
we really don't know.
