- Recent version of McAfee have been *terrible* at properly
- identifying viruses; without an accurate identification, it's
- virtually impossible to succeed at cleanup attempts.
-
- Dump McAfee and use F-Prot. Much more accurate, fast, and works
- well.
-
- It's also possible that he had a multiple infection; those can
- cause wierd problems, including making the hard drive unbootable
- by destroying the MBR.
