  12. A very simple question for anyone who has been 
  13. distributing a *text* file from a texinfo source:
  14.   in some files .text on prep.ai.mit.edu, one 
  15. can find headers like:
  16.  
  17. "This is Info file standards.text, produced by Makeinfo-1.47 from the
  18.  input file standards.texi."
  19.

  23. Until now, I used some sed(1) command to strip off the
  24. unwanted lines used by Emacs to locate nodes, and the
  25. Tag list. 
  26. I would prefer to use a standard makeinfo command but
  27. wasn't able to figure it out (no hint in the Texinfo 
  28. Info manual).
