- I just got this compiled - it seems to get confused in a variety of
- ways when one of us has to castle - particularly queenside - about 25%
- of the time. Has anyone seen this before? I'm not sure whether the
- bug is in gnuchess or in the xboard interface. Fixes appreciated - I'd
- rather spend my time doing something interesting like typing in opening
- lines.
-
- I've been using "gnuchessr" to practise my blindfold chess. Scored my
- first win against it yesterday - at 40/10 on a SUN 4/600. I'm about
- 2050 USCF and probably a class F blindfold player, which makes me *really*
- suspicious of rating estimates in the 2300's. (Ok, so I had to peek to
- find the mating combo, but still ...) Comments? The program seems ok
- tactically, but it has no positional "understanding" whatsoever.
