- To all:
-
- I posted a message the other day about having problems compiling X11R4 MIT
- distribution. I am still having problems and have not had any responses to
- my message. I realize this is the holiday season and not everyone is
- reading messages, but can someone read back to my message and give me a hand?
-
- Another interesting tidbit to add to the situation: The man pages for the
- ld linker say that directories listed with the -L option are searched before
- the standard locations. This does not seem to be the case, because running
- ldd on some executables shows the standard location libraries listed and not
- the ones from the newly compiled distribution. Is this the case, or is this
- a LD_LIBRARY_PATH kind of thing? Will someone clear this up for me as well?
-
- Thanks,
- Tom
