- Half of the listed civil forfeiture cases listed involved less money
- than I normally carry on any given day. Or, I should say, I used to
- carry after I found out that most of the thieves in DC wear blue
- uniforms.

- Food for though: be in the wrong place at the wrong time wearing the
- wrong clothes and the wrong skin color and it could happen to you as
- well. I'd be willing to bet that not one of the people listed as the
- putative owners of the money 'under arrest' in these cases has been
- charged with or convicted of a crime that would, if the laws were
- written properly, justify forfeiture.
