- While reading the docs for XFree86 I noticed that the server first
- looks for a config file in the user's own home directory. I'd like to
- question the wisdom of this. The Xconfig file does not contain much
- you'd want to change on a user basis, but mostly settings dictated by
- the hardware on the machine.

- In my opinion, the Xconfig file contains settings that are way too
- powerful to be let into the hands of ordinary users. You can easily
- destroy your monitor by putting in bogus clock frequencies or sync
- timings in the file. If you put dial-in access on your computer,
- anybody could put fire on your house via modem...
