  10. I have a customer who is running SCO XENIX 2.3.1 and has been running
  11. it for years now.  Within the last 2 weeks she has had a problem with
  12. multi-screens behaving erratically.  She has four Screens enabled,
  13. tty01 thru tty04.  She uses Alt-F1 thru ALT-F4 to switch to these
  14. screens.  What has started happening recently is that sometimes these
  15. keys work correctly to switch screens for her and sometimes they do not.

  17. When they do not switch screens for her she is sometimes left looking
  18. at her original screen and she gets the message
  19.  
  20.   If your terminal supports lower case letters, please
  21.   use them. Login again, using lower case if possible
  22.  
  23. She is sometimes left with strange characters on the original screen
  24. when she hits the ALT-F keys as if not all the characters generated
  25. by they ALT-F? keys are being sent correctly.
  26.  
  27. Has anyone seen this?  Is it a hardware or software problem most likely?
