- Whether a SPARC 2 or SPARC 10 can handle that load, I can't say. My
- experience is that it will handle about 25-30 users doing heavy I/O
- traffic, and probably 75 or more if throughput is light (avg 1000 cps
- per user).
-
- But the multiport solution does not have to be Ethernet. Our
- scsiTerminal Server can put up to 448 ports on a SPARC system while
- consuming only 1 slot. The price is competitive with multiport
- boards, as little as $93 per port (list price).
