- For this I can tell you only about one system: ftp.funet.fi
- We have a small directory on the root disk: /ftp,
- in it we have a dozen or so physical mountpoints (/ftp/disk1 .. disk10),
- and to hide them from users, we have extremely hacked "/bin/ls" which
- has separate control files scattered around our directory tree guiding
- its view of the world. (End result: symbolic links disappear, etc..)
-
- Back then when that system was started, there was no lofs to my
- recollection (SunOS 4.0.3), and we haven't used it later for any reason.
-
- Oh yes, How do we have a LOT of disks on that host ? With 3 SCSI host
- adapters, and lately OnLine:DiskSuite metadisks.

-
- Unless you are able to mount them under ~ftp, consider hard-coded NFF-
- mounts (a bit like lofs) or real lofs (SunOS system).
- (A friend of mine made such NFS-mounts on their company SysV ISC 2.1 -- ages
- ago..)
