  12. Okay folks, here's the scoop.  I got the dnet2.20 binaries from
  13. amiga.physik and installed them.  My tester tells me that when he runs
  14. "dnet -m0" the fterm comes up okay.  But putfiles complains that it
  15. can't connect.  (Although "ps" shows "server.8201.1001" running --
  16. that's the sgcopy server that handles putfiles.)  Looking the DNET
  17. directory I find a ".PORT.8201" named FIFO, a "DNET. " FIFO (why is
  18. there a space?), and the typical dnet.servers and DNET.LOG files...

  20. I'm driving down to his place this afternoon, so I'll get to take a
  21. look at it from his end (hopefully) and perhaps I can find the
  22. problem.  I'm thinking that if this version of DNet is working for
  23. others, there must be a local setup/installation problem on my
  24. machine.

  26. I've checked the permissions on /dev/pts and /dev/pts/*, on every
  27. binary in /usr/local/dbin (where my DNet binaries are).  The DNET.LOG
  28. file contains the following message(s) from the last session:

  32.     8 bit mode selected
  33.     DNET RUNNING, Listenfd=3
  34.       CONNECT2 -1[149] Operation already in progress

  37. I wasn't tail'ing the file as my tester was trying things out, so I'm
  38. not sure but I would suspect that the CONNECT error was at the start
  39. of the second putfiles attempt (the first one started the server but
  40. couldn't connect, so the second fails also?).

  42. Permissions on /usr/lib/pt_chmod are 4111 (first thing I checked!).

  44. I may try rebuilding the binaries from scratch if I don't get any
  45. other ideas before then.

  47. I'm open to any and all suggestions.  Especially from folks that've
  48. grabbed that version of DNet and are *successfully* running it.
