- I am trying to print the documentation for the FLOAT styles and they require a
- file TUGBOAT.COM. I have TUGBOAT.STY and TUGBOAT.DOC from INFOTEX (SHSU), but
- am unaware of TUGBOAT.COM. Does anyone know where I can find it?
-
- Second problem. I have been printing the documentation for the latest of the
- FM and RS files for DOCSTRIP and all the other nice programs in the Mainz
- series. DOCSTRIP.DRV printed nicely in 42 pages - took about 5 min to LaTeX on
- an 8 MHz machine. However, DOC.DRV, which seems to have printed fine in 47
- pages, took 5 hours for a single pass (and it takes two passes to resolve the
- references). It took 10 hours to LaTeX the file! Has anyone else seen such a
- problem? Very strange! As best as I can tell (and with no "correct" printout
- to check against), the printed files looks fine.
-
- Third problem. To process the indexes to many of these files (and any I may
- wish to create for myself) I need a program MAKEINDEX.EXE which will run under
- DOS on an IBM/PC. This was supposed to have been provided by my source for TEX
- (PTI), but was not. Does anyone know where such a program resides and which
- can be downloaded from a LISTSERVE (TCP/IP is painfull, but possible)
-
- Finally, in the printed documentation for multicol, array etc from Mainz, and
- for reasons I do not understand, the first page (which is always numbered)
- always is the header information placed in the file by George Greenwade at SHSU
-
- "Save file as: docstrip.doc Source: FILESERVE@SHSU.BITNET Note: ..........etc"
-
- (Note that the filename is the name of whatever documentation file I am
- printing - docstrip was the example given, but it applies to all of the Mainz
- documentation.
-
- Why does this appear when it is all on lines with 3 percent signs? If I delete
- the lines, then the checksum does not count correctly. Yet, the information is
- not something I want on a numbered page in my file. Does anyone know how I can
- supress this printout?
-
- Thanks for any and all help.
