- Is indeed a problem. I use the TOC paratags and let maker number when
- generating the TOC.

- In the numbering option for each paratag:

- TitleTOC : <n+>< =0>< =0> (I number headers two levels deep.)
- 2HeaderTOC : <n><n+>< =0> (the =0 resets the number to 0 without printing.)
- 3HeaderTOC : <n><n><n+> (Note: the space in front of the = is needed.)

- On the TOC reference page (for your example above), I would use:

- Chapter <$paranum> <$paratag> | Page <$pagenum> ( | indicates tab)
