- I really suspect that Sun is trying to set themselves (and us) for the
- long haul. Unfortunatly this means (among other things) some pain, as
- in the move to SV4 derived Solaris. It would seem to me that they want
- to get it over with.

- I think the real issue here is the software vendors who go, "oh, the
- software doesn't run on the new OS?! Gosh."

- Another thought, there was resitance when Sun moved from the Sun 3 to the Sun 4
- class machines, but I don't hear a lot of calls for the new
- Sun 3/5000 server. :-) I think in the end people thought it was for the
- best.
