  17. Just about every 4.1.x application I've tried on Solaris 2 does work.
  18. This includes large programs like "nn", and programs which do some
  19. pretty complex system calls, like "traceroute".

  21. The key is that the application must be dynamically linked.  Anything
  22. built with -Bstatic on 4.1.x won't work on Solaris 2.x.  I don't know
  23. why, but apparently some 3rd party vendors do use -Bstatic, so their
  24. applications won't work on Solaris 2.
