  15. I apologise if it is a FAQ, but I am a new person in the Sun world.

  17. My task was to connect Telebit T-2500 to our Sun-3/160 in order we can
  18. use it both for dial-in and dial-out connections. Sun-3/160 runs SUN OS 4.1.1.
  19. Modem is to be connected to the ALM-2 Multiplexor.

  21. I done all the things enlisted in documentation.
  22.   1) I rebuilt the kernel with proper flags for mcp0
  23.   2) I done
  24.     mv /dev/ttyh0 /dev/ttyd0
  25.         mknod /dev/cua0 c 44 128
  26.   3) I updated /etc/ttytab with the line
  27.      ttyd0 "getty std.9600" vt100 on remote
  28.   4) I made an entry in /etc/remote like
  29.      TEL0:\
  30.   5) I setup modem for valid carrier detect report via 
  31.      ATS131=1
  32.  
  33. It works fine with one noticeable exception. tip doesn't work. It connects
  34. to modem (anyway it says "connected") but no characters are transmitted.
  35. Such behavior seems to be especially strange because kermit works fine, and
  36. even cat smth. > /dev/cua0 works.

  38. I suppose that it is tip problem, but how to get around it?
