- This sendmail fails to verify addresses which correspond to records in
- the NIS "passwd" map, when started in rc.local as a daemon with
- "/usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q1h".

- Aliases from the "aliases" map are recognized. Issuing the same
- command interactively after booting with an empty environment vector
- starts a daemon which has no problem verifying the addresses. These
- facts rule out the reasons for this behavior which I could think of.
