  12. As you can see from the above 'From' line, my posts are getting
  13. reported as coming from the mainframe instead of from my SGI.
  14.  
  15. I was told by the system operator to pull a new sendmail file called
  16. sendmail-sgi.cf off the mainframe and to use it instead.
  17.  
  18. Well i tried two things.  Renamed the file /usr/lib/sendmail.cf 
  19. /usr/lib/sendmail.cf.old and renamed the sendmail-sgi.cf to sendmail.cf.

  21. I logged out and then back in. Nothing had changed.

  23. I then did the following reccomended by the sysop:

  25. Logged in as root.
  26. at the prompt typed /usr/lib/sendmail -bz
  27.  
  28. ps -ef (to get the process number of sendmail (119))
  29.  
  30. kill 119
  31.  
  32. /usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q1h
  33. Logged out and in.
  34. Again nothing happened except that sendmail now has a PID of 1126.

  36. should I have been typing sendmail.cf?
  37. I noticed the old sendmail was sendmail -bd -q15m  when  the ps -ef command 
  38.   was used.

  40. What should I be doing here?  i have an Iris 4D25 with 3.3.1.
