  12. I know this is a bit off the mark for this newsgroup, but I thought
  13. folks who use SGI machines might be a good source of info on where
  14. to find some polygonal model data.

  16. I'm looking for some accurate models of various Star Wars spacecraft,
  17. including Tie figheters, X wings, and a Star Destroyer. Any other models
  18. would be great, too.

  20. Does anyone know where I can get ahold of these models without making them
  21. myself?  I'd prefer the raw data in some type of ASCII format, containing
  22. vertices, connections, and polygon definitions. The simpler format the 
  23. better (I have to convert these models to run on an Evans and Sutherland
  24. CT6 Image Generator).

  26. Why do I need these?  Well, we are putting the finishing touches on a
  27. large 6 degree of freedom hydraulic motion base in our simulation bay
  28. (at the Iowa Driving Simulator), and I thought it would be a great test
  29. (and a hell of alot of fun) to fly an X wing against a swarm of Tie 
  30. fighters while trying to take out a star destroyer. Lots of swooping
  31. manouevers and laser explosions to rock the motion base around a bit.

  33. If you know of any data which I could use, please let me know via e-mail
  34. at booth@ccad.uiowa.edu.  If anyone else wants to know, let me know
  35. and I'll post any findings here.
