- I assume, from this description, that imgworks is
- unintentionally flipping the image upside down?
-
- The SGI file format assumes the lower-left corner
- of the image is the origin, while TIFF, being a more complex
- file format, allows you to specify the corner of origin.
- Most applications deal with an upper-left origin, though
- imgworks is supposed to be smart enough to do the right
- thing and not invert the image. If it isn't, it's a
- bug.
-
- A workaround for this problem is to flip the image yourself
- before saving, so it will land in the file right side up.
- See the "Flip Vertical" command on the Effects menu.

- Probably, but it is unlikely to be fixed anytime soon.

- Speaking as the author of imgworks, I'm not very pleased
- with the "type-a-number-in-the-box" approach to the Crop
- feature, either. Given more time and a different set of
- circumstances, something better would have emerged. My
- only defense is that the feature works as advertised...
-
- I've since moved on to other projects, so I can't say
- with certainty what the future plans are for upgrades
- or replacements for imgworks and the rest of the image
- tools. I do know that the ImageVision group is very
- interested in providing a set of image manipulation tools
- which provide a better set of features than the current
- ImageVision Tools, so I would be optimistic about the
- future.
